Hey Listen to you for a long time. Just looked at your resume for fun. As a HR professional, you might want to remove your age, this may be off putting to people. They might not think you have expereince or not like younger people and as you get older it may add to discrimination. try to keep your resume to 1 page. i do not want to have to read and try and figure it out. if you have any othe questions let me know.

I would suggest having your experiences listed with most current/recent (date-present) first, and older experiences following current.

  3. Andy says:

Thanks both of you for the suggestions. I should read up on writing a better Resume!

Eh, the new resume is better, but it could use some more work. You goofed up here: “Profile & Career Objective:
An self-motivated, ambitious, team-oriented New Jersey native interested in everything to do with Apple
technology, Podcasting, Video/Audio Production, Web Development, and working with students, teachers,
    and children to educate.”

“An”, should be changed to “A”.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks! Fixing now.

You will never cease to amaze me Andrew. I can’t believe you run Mugglecast, Imprint and SmartMouths (3 FANTASTIC podcasts that get me through my day, every day), as well as Mugglenet, TwilightSource and the Gaga Beat (of course), appear on JabberJays, keep VERY fit and juggle schoolwork (I’m sure I’ve missed several things off that list.)
And its amazing the number on things you have on your resume at only 20.
I am not even going to wish you good luck because I know you will be going far in the future. I can’t wait until your some big name in radio and think I knew about him when he was just a young podcaster. ;)
You have a great personality Andrew and I hope you do well =]
    xXx

Jason Isaacs’ name is heavily misspelled. Also, is something missing after “Cultural/Arts”? I feel like there’s something missing there. Otherwise it was a very good resume.

    Cheers

maybe you could include interviewing celebrities on the podcasts?
i.e. Warwick Davis, Stephanie Meyer, Jim Doyle, David Heyman, Freddie Highmore, Patrick Doyle, Mary Grandpre?
    just a thought

    wow you’ve done LOADS!
just a wee thing- order of the pheonix “Premiers”- missing an ‘e’
    otherwise awesome :)

It looks great and its cool to see someone closer to our age have a resume when we are studying about them in school. Just one thought, on the Order of the Phoenix premiere at the bottom…premiere is spelled wrong.

Thanks and I might show your really cool looking resume to the rest of my class since we are learning how to make these.

In the “professional experience” category, it says you are the president of MuggleNet, but later, in the HBP premier, it says “worked with co-webmasters”. Just clarify which one you are, president or a webmaster.

    Andrew,

Before you use this again, line up the dates throughout the document. It looks kind of sloppy.

(I also find it odd you have no contact info included, but it may be edited out for this site – a good idea – you should add that before sending it to anyone).

  13. Andy says:

Thanks everyone for the suggestions – I’ve been making changes and will update this site copy soon.

    Hey Andrew,
I think your resume is really good, it would definitely convince me to choose you if I was an employer ;-)
I think the content is more important than the layout, especially because your experience is quite impressive. There are not many people of your age who have attended premieres and interviewed actors and who work for well-known websites. (I’m a fan of Mugglenet)
I wish you all the best :-)
