Daily Booth through the month

July 2nd, 2010 by Andy Leave a reply »

I’m about to embark on an 11-city, 20-day Imprint podcast tour (with one MuggleCast in Orlando in the Harry Potter theme park) with Elysa, Matt, and Laura. It’s going to be so much fun. We’ve been planning it for so long that I feel like life is only separated by before-tour and after-tour.

We’re going to be spending a lot of time on the road. I love road trips to death, so this is one aspect that I’m most excited for.

Lately I’ve been thinking that I want to somehow have my own log of the trip. I decided today the best way to do this is via the social networking site Daily Booth.

So I made a profile – if you have an account, follow me here! Honestly, I’ve always thought the concept of Daily Booth was dumb. But people love it, and it seems like a fun way to keep a log of the trip. As you can see once you click the link, I’ve already added my first ultra corny/awkward photo.

What I plan on doing is taking a picture of me at the same angle using iPhone 4′s front-facing camera at least once or twice a day (starting on the 4th). The background will just be different every time, and I hope to make the backgrounds interesting.

On a related note, I usually get car sick easily from reading, but I’m going to TRY to read the ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo‘ series while on the road. I’ve heard a ton of great things about the books lately!

Thats great. Are you still going to do MuggleCasts throughout the summer every 2 weeks though?

The Millenium Trilogy series (i.e., Stieg Larson’s books) would be a GREAT podcast!!!…I am also holding out hopes for the Hunger Games…Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the books…I really enjoyed them..

STILL doing Mugglecast? boy, you’re committed – good for you!

The girl with the dragon tattoo is really good, and unexpected; it was nothing like I thought it would be. The only thing I’d say is don’t leave it too long between reading each chapter as it can be confusing at times!

    Have fun (: x

I’m currently reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It’s very nice, though as an American reader you’ll notice some things that make it obvious that it was translated from Swedish.

I am most definitely jealous of your Mugglecast road trip…I wish I was living before-tour and after-tour too! =)

I’ve been thinking to start reading the series too since I keep hearing about it everywhere…tell us how it is!

Sorry, not your Mugglecast tour, your Imprint tour. I suppose a tour is a tour. =)

OOOooooOOOO They just made a movie based on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, It’s supposed to be like the BEST book adaptation ever. I seriously want to read these books and see if the movie lives up to the hype.

    Good Luck!

P.S. Try taking some Dramamine before you start reading, it might help. Also works well before you start drinking too, lol. ;)

The Millennium trilogy is amazing! I read them in Norwegian, but I cannot imagine it being any less awesome in English. However, I’m not particularly fond of the Hollywood tendency of remaking any Scandinavian movie coming their way. If you are planning to watch the film adaption of the trilogy, I highly recommend the Swedish one!
